Prox left and Yamaha right both from upper left barrel RD500. Both less than 200miles. Hope this doesn't happen again.... not on my new stuff ..please.

 

2 GPZ305 pistons from Honda 500four. Both mishaps on the road not racing.

The one on the right cost me 2 gallons of oil to get home, and a plume of smoke the Red Arrows would have been proud of.

 

TZ piston. See the small crack just below the blue line. Cost me 1st place in a race at Cadwell Park. Caused loads of vibration and a lot of head scratching to find it. Pistons were brand new and not suspected as the problem, especially when the head came off and they looked spotless. There's also some ring groove distortion.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

got fed up buying these from breakers. That Z11 must have some ooomffff. Keeps snapping the chain and wrecking this casting. 4 so far.

 

TZ close ratio cluster, seize-up, and a clutch basket. The broken bits hit me in the Knee. Ouch..!

 

TZ Clutch side cover, crank nut spun off and bored out the casing. left oil all over the dyno. Lucky it was the last run.

 

The general condition of the Z1100R before repaint etc. It looked like new when I got it.

Piston from Marteks after crank failure - loads of cracks - gudgin pin almost pulled out the bottom....!
