Always wanted one of these babies....a mate rang me up saying one of his friends had a crashed one and wanted £700 for it. Went almost straight round to look at it, and I suppose it didn't matter how bad it was I was going to buy it. We had no money at the time and she would not have been happy if she got wind of it. When I got it home I tried to sneak it down the shed and got caught. Initially I told her I was repairing it for someone else but stricken with guilt, I confessed later that evening. ooh dear. Of course, penniless or not, the next day I rang round all the breakers for the necessary bits. That desperate to ride it, I didn't bother with straightening the badly bent frame. Wacked in some second hand forks/wheel patched up the fairing, welded the rad and clipons and then used it for a year. Had to jab the brake one day in a corner and it immediately went on to 3 cylinders. The front tyre had smashed the lower right spark plug in half. That convinced me to get the frame straightened, did that, used it for another year. It gradually wore out. Top end rebuild revealed cracked in half upper left piston. Hehehe..this will fly now when its properly on 4 cylinders. Not that lucky..immediate sieze on first thrash, same pot. Fixed it again, used it for a bit, then it seized again. Chucked it in the garage and gave up. Its no mean feat, stripping one of these to bare chassis...there are a lot of parts.
